2021 Restrictions - How Covid is affecting us all

As we enter a new year in 2021, Coronavirus (Covid-19) is still very much with us. New variants of the virus have continued to develop, and although vaccines are now being rolled out across the world, the reality is this will still take time to try to combat this awful disease.

Government restrictions unfortunately once again impact Deverell Hall, as well as any other community centres, hospitality and business across the United Kingdom.

The latest updated information appears at the top of this page surrounding the current situation we are facing.

5th January 2021 - 18.35GMT - HALL CLOSED

With effect from Tuesday 5th January 2021 until further notice, ALL HIRER GROUPS are suspended from using Deverell Hall apart from Deverell Hall Preschool who fall within the permitted Early Years Settings who can remain open.

Boris Johnson, the UK Prime Minister has announced a national lockdown and instructed people to stay at home to control the virus, protect the NHS and save lives. The decision follows a rapid rise in infections, hospital admissions and case rates across the country, and our hospitals are now under more pressure than they have been at any other point throughout the pandemic.

From 5th January 2021 people will only be allowed to leave their homes for the following reasons:
1) shop for basic necessities, for you or a vulnerable person;
2) go to work, or provide voluntary or charitable services, if you cannot reasonably do so from home;
3) exercise with your household (or support bubble) or one other person, this should be limited to once per day, and you should not travel outside your local area;
4) meet your support bubble or childcare bubble where necessary, but only if you are legally permitted to form one;
5) seek medical assistance or avoid injury, illness or risk of harm (including domestic abuse);
6) attend education or childcare - for those eligible.

At this time of writing legislation on England's new Covid lockdown restrictions are expected to last until at least 31 March 2021, and the speed the measures can be eased depends on how quickly the UK can roll out vaccination.

Clearly this is disappointing for all users, especially for some of the regular groups had made real efforts to return to use our Covid Secure facilities.

We will keep you updated as soon as we know more ourselves. Thank you.

At Deverell Hall in Purbrook we host a wide range of regular groups who use the facilities. Here are just a selection of just a few of them.
